TRAINER SPOTLIGHT Featuring…Cindy Gietman of BLC Community Bank
Teller Trainers are the backbone of retail banking, so in this issue of our eNewsletter we are featuring Cindy Gietman, Assistant Vice President – Administration for BLC Community Bank in Little Chute, Wisconsin.
Cindy’s career in banking encompasses 22 years of banking experience with almost five years with BLC Community Bank. She has held many titles in her banking career; part-time teller, teller supervisor, teller operations manager, corporate teller operations manager, and bank review manager. She is now currently Assistant Vice President – Administration for BLC Community Bank.
When asked what she loves most about being a bank trainer, her response was “seeing the light go on in somebody’s eyes – that moment of “I see! I understand! I get it!” It’s also a thrill to see employees succeed in their positions and make good decisions because of the training they received.”
Cindy’s dedication to helping associates advance in the banking industry and her desire to see them succeed led her and BLC Community Bank to incorporate BankTrainingOnline® into their curriculum. “BankTrainingOnline provided a new way to teach the same old stuff. It provides a solid compliance base while saving hours of preparation and presentation time. BankTrainingOnline also provides great reports! I could easily access reports by individual employee or specific course. And the Examiners seemed very pleased with both the comprehensiveness of the program we required and the documentation we were able to provide to them.”
“Last year we used TRC Interactive’s BankTrainingOnline for our mandatory compliance training for all employees. We specified 15 courses and gave everyone a schedule of which ones to do each month. That way, everyone was working on the same topics, so we could address questions at our weekly staff meetings. Recently we used it as beginner training for our new CSRs.”
Cindy and her husband, Marty, have been married for over 33 years. She has three wonderful children. She has two sons, 29 and 26, and a daughter who is 24. She also has a 1-year-old grandson. Cindy loves to play with her grandson. She also enjoys walking, reading, making quilts, tying fleece blankets, playing word games on her PC, and playing cards.
Cindy shares, “I love my job and the people I work with. Banking has changed so much over the last 20 years and I know that change will continue. I believe that being here every day just trying to keep up with those changes and challenges has helped to keep me feeling young and vital. But I am looking forward to retirement!”
