TRAINER SPOTLIGHT Featuring…Brenda Bittner of Omega Bank
Teller Trainers are the backbone of retail banking, so in this issue of our eNewsletter we are featuring Brenda Bittner, Branch Development and Education Coordinator for Omega Bank Headquarters – State College, PA.
When asked what she loves most about being a bank trainer, her response was "Training is never boring. I love that things are always changing and there is always something new that needs to be taught. I also enjoy training employees so they are knowledgeable and confident in their job. I believe that an employee who in confident in their ability to service the customer will provide better customer service."
Brenda’s career in banking encompasses 17 years of training experience, 10 years of which are with Omega Bank.
Brenda’s dedication to helping associates advance in the banking industry and her desire to see employees who enjoy their jobs, are eager to learn and want to make banking their career has led her and Omega Bank to incorporate BankTrainingOnline® into their curriculum. “BankTrainingOnline® provides consistent training to all employees. Employees can complete the courses right at their home branch. This greatly reduces travel expense and the employee’s time out of the office attending training. We even have some eager employees who have taken it upon themselves to access BankTrainingOnline® at home via the Internet and completed courses on their own time.”
TRC Interactive’s BankTrainingOnline® has been a major part of their overall restructuring of their training program. The online training has brought diversity and flexibility to their training program. “We are using BankTrainingOnline® for our annual compliance training. Our Compliance Officer and the examiners like the content of the compliance courses and the student reports. We are also using BankTrainingOnline® as part of our new CSR training program. We created a schedule of courses that each CSR must complete within their first 30, 60 and 90 days of employment at Omega Bank.”
We deliver training in many different ways. We still do some traditional classroom training; however we have found that conference calls, webinars and of course BankTrainingOnline® are alternate methods of training that are a much more cost effective way of reaching all our employees who are spread over such a large geographic area.
Brenda was been married to Scott for 24 years. They are the parents of an awesome son, age 18, who just graduated from high school. He’ll be leaving for college in the fall. She is active in her church. She is also active in the Booster Club that supports their local minor league baseball team. For the past nine years they have hosted players in their home. “Our son has thoroughly enjoyed being a brother to young men from various countries who dream of becoming a major league baseball player.”
