Featuring… Patty Hewitt Dalbo, Vice President of Corporate Training, WesBanco Bank Inc.

Teller Trainers are the backbone of retail banking, so in this issue of our eNewsletter we are featuring Patty Hewitt Dalbo, Vice President of Corporate Training for WesBanco Bank Inc.

In her 25 years at WesBanco, Patty has had the opportunity to hold various positions within the bank including assistant branch manager, branch manager, and financial services counselor. Though she never held the position of Teller in her 14 years within the branch network, she did support Teller operations and occasionally worked the Teller window. Currently, she is Vice President of Corporate Training and works very closely with Branch Administration. “It is always nice to get to know the employees,” Patty says, “but it is very self gratifying to know that I am helping employees to learn about WesBanco and how better to perform their jobs to create a WOW experience for our customers.”

A few years ago, Patty introduced TellerSolution™ into WesBanco’s training program. Previously their Teller training consisted of on-the-job training at the branch where the new hire was going to be working. “TellerSolution™ has enhanced the new hire’s training,” says Patty. “It compels the new Teller to thoroughly review our Teller Training Manual (a.k.a. TellerSolution™ Action Guide) which results in the Teller being more confident and knowledgeable of the Bank’s Teller policies and procedures.”

Patty is a dedicated bank trainer who is always interested in establishing a network of bank trainers to share and obtain ideas and suggestions on ‘best practices’. Outside the office, her interests include cooking, gardening, and spending time with her husband and family.
