Trainer Spotlight Featuring...Denise Swain of Chartway Federal Credit Union

Teller Trainers are the backbone of retail banking, so in this issue of our eNewsletter we are featuring Denise Swain, Training Specialist for Chartway Federal Credit Union in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Denise began her career in the financial industry as a teller working her way up to being the Branch Office Operations Manager. She wanted to have a more direct impact on teaching new employees and helping them to apply what they have learned to their actual roles at the credit union. "I get to meet most of the new employees and work with those who have been around awhile. I find it extremely exciting to help people learn. It is fun to watch as the 'light bulb' goes off."

Cindy's dedication to helping associates advance in the financial industry and her desire to see them succeed led her and Chartway FCU to incorporate TellerSolution® into their curriculum. "We chose TellerSolution® to give our teller staff a better, more consistent learning experience. It is sometimes difficult to learn from a subject matter expert. You also risk learning their mistakes. TellerSolution® helped us reduce this risk."

Since Chartway began using TellerSolution®, they have been able to "fully convert our teller training from the classroom to eLearning. This gives our branches the ability to hire and train as needed and not based on when a teller training class will be offered." Denise shares that using TellerSolution® has also created better relationships between tellers and managers because the teller goes to the manager for questions.

In her time spent outside of Chartway, Denise feeds her love for running; "It is my biggest stress reliever." Denise also enjoys reading and crocheting as a way to wind down at the end of the day. She says, "My nieces and nephews have gotten the most enjoyment out of the crocheting as they each have a blanket from me."
